Rubber Industries Launches NEW Application Video. See How Rubber Industries Helps
Develop, Manufacture, Package And Provide Fulfillment For A Marine OEM Customer

Shakopee, Minnesota: Design, mold, assemble and ship – that's what Rubber Industries is doing for M-Y Wedge, an outboard motor support device widely used in the recreational boating industry.
This new 2-minute video describes how Rubber Industries helped M-Y Wedge become a success in the marketplace. The M-Y Wedge is a specially designed and formulated rubber, two-part sleeve that slides over trim/tilt mechanisms of outboard motors. It provides motor support and protection when the outboard motor is elevated during trailering.
Mark Raveling, president of M-Y Wedge, describes in the video what Rubber Industries does to make the product functional, marketable and profitable. Transforming a product concept into a prototype design, Rubber Industries' chemists designed and formulated a special EPDM compound. The formulation was customized with high strength carbon black to withstand up to 500 lbs engine weight pressure as well as resist moisture and outdoor ozone exposure. With Rubber Industries' technical help, the design was refined into a manufacturable product.
In the video, hear and see how Rubber Industries produced M-Y Wedge prototype and market introduction quantities. This included building a single cavity mold and providing lab inspection systems and processes to ensure quality requirements were met. Using state-of-the-art molding equipment, volume quantities of the M-Y Wedge are produced. The video also shows packaging and customer fulfillment to leading outboard engine manufacturers including Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda.
